FERRIS – As Deputy Superintendent T.J. Knight continues his role as current acting superintendent for Ferris ISD, the Ferris ISD Board of Trustees recently began working with Arrow Educational Services to find the district’s next superintendent.
Former Superintendent James Hartman left the district in mid-September after the board accepted his resignation.
Now the trustees are working with Arrow Educational Services to replace Hartman.
In regard to a recent workshop discussing the open position, Ricardo Rodriguez, Ferris ISD School Board President said, “At last night’s workshop with Dr. Marshal, the board with the guidance of Dr. Marshal and Jim Dunlap – his associate – was able to set dates and guidelines for our superintendent search.”
While Rodriguez said some information discussed is still tentative, it was believed a formal announcement will be made by Arrow this week announcing the search for the new Ferris ISD superintendent.
“This will make it official and open the door for all those who wish to apply for the position,” Rodriguez said.
“It will be up to Arrow to vet those candidates and present a narrow list of the best candidates for our District.
“The board will then interview those candidates and ultimately choose the candidate we feel best fits what our district needs to move forward. All personal information pertaining to candidates, the selection process, and what is discussed about each candidate at these meetings is confidential and will remain that way to protect the integrity of the candidates and the boards search process. Any information that is not confidential will be made public at the appropriate time.”
