OVILLA – At the recent Ovilla City Council meeting, Mayor Richard Dormier presented Certificates of Election to incumbent City Council Members Place 1 Kimberly Case; Place 3 David Griffin, and Place 5 Sharon Jungman who were officially sworn in to office for another term.

Mayor Dormier then recommended Place 4 Council Member Doug Hunt to serve as the city’s Mayor Pro Tem.

The council voted unanimously to appoint Hunt, who will serve in that seat for a one-year term.

The city council also approved the hiring of a full-time licensed code compliance officer who will serve to support the City’s ongoing efforts to maintain community standards.

And, newly re-elected Councilmember Griffin recognized Ovilla Police Sergeant Mario Ortegon.

Ortegon has been with the department for 22 years.

Griffin also recognized 10 years of service by Sergeant Kyle Breedlove and Lieutenant Seth Geiser.
