ELLIS COUNTY – Last week the Texas House passed Senate Bill 7, and it effects all residents in the state of Texas, including Ellis County.

The bill bans employers from requiring employees, contractors, applicants for employment, and applicants for a contract position to be forced to receive a COVID-19 vaccine to be hired or continue working at their place of employment.

State Rep. Brian Harrison, who represents Ellis County in Austin has been pushing for this bill to pass.

In fact, leading the “fight for medical freedom in Texas for the last two years,” according to a press release.

Harrison was successful in getting a ban on COVID vaccine mandates on the call during the state’s third special session recently.

The leadership of the Texas House killed a comprehensive ban earlier this year during the state’s regular session.

“Today the Texas House took a big and long overdue step towards ending COVID tyranny by passing SB 7,” Harrison said.

“I thank Senator Mayes Middleton and the senate for repeatedly passing bills to ban all COVID vaccine mandates and every grassroots advocate whose persistence and relentless pressure on their government has led us to this moment today.”

Harrison has been one of the stronger voices in Austin fighting the COVID mandates in Texas.

His very first action after being sworn into the Texas House was filing the Texas COVID Vaccine Freedom Act, which is the most comprehensive ban on COVID vaccine mandates.

“It is indefensible that Texas House leadership has protected COVID vaccine mandates for over two years,” Harrison concluded.

“I’ll never stop fighting to protect freedom and liberty for all Texans and am proud to have helped deliver this victory today.”
