City of Ovilla welcomes new finance director

OVILLA – The city of Ovilla welcomed a new finance director in early February after the retirement of longtime director Sharon Jungman.

Edward Scott has more than 25 years of municipal government and private sector accounting and administration experience.

He was most recently with the cities of Dallas and DeSoto.

Scott has a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from Southern University and joins the city with a solid analytical background, and the ability to strategically manage and lead various accounting and financial functions. He is also a Quickbooks Certified ProAdvisor.

“I am blessed and excited to join the City of Ovilla as the Finance Director,” Scott said. “I look forward to working closely with the various department within the city, including the finance team, city manager, and mayor/council team, to advance the goals of the city in a meaningful and fiscally sustainable manner.”
