NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS 

Rebid - 12” Water line 

 

Sealed bids addressed to the Honorable Mayor and City Council of the City of Wilmer, Texas, will be received at the office of the City Secretary, at City Hall, 128 N. Dallas Avenue, Wilmer, Texas, until 10:00 a.m., Local Time, June 25, 2019, and will be opened and read aloud in City Hall at that time. Bids will be tabulated and submitted to the City Council for approval on July 18, 2019. For furnishing all labor, materials, tools and equipment, and performing all work required for Construction of 12” Water Line Improvements along Millers Ferry Rd., from Pleasant Run Rd. to Swango Rd., and along Swango Rd. to existing Water Tower.

BID: includes approximately; 3,100 Linear Foot of 12 inch Water Line; 5 Each 12 inch Water Valves; 20 Linear Foot of 8 inch Water Line; 1 Each 8 inch Water Valves; 220 Square Yards of Crushed Rock Drive Removal and Replacement; Connect to existing Water Line; Cut and Plug Existing Water line; Concrete Blocking; Fittings; Traffic Control; Erosion Control; Material Testing; Payment, Performance and Maintenance Bonds; and all appurtenances for Construction of 12 inch Water Line.

Proposal shall be accompanied by a cashier’s check or certified check upon a national or state bank in an amount not less than five percent of the total maximum bid price, payable without recourse to the City of Wilmer or a bid bond in the same amount from an acceptable surety company, as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract and execute a performance bond and payment bond within ten days after the notice of award of contract to bidder.

The successful bidder must furnish a performance bond and a payment bond on the forms provided in the amount of 100 percent of the contract price from an approved surety company holding a permit from the State of Texas to act as surety or other sureties acceptable to the City and at completion of project provide a one year maintenance bond to the City.

The successful bidder must furnish references upon request, a financial statement upon request, and a certificate of General Liability Insurance, Workers Compensation Insurance and Owners Protective Liability Insurance prior to a work order being issued.

Contractor shall furnish Lien Release from all suppliers, subcontractors or any other person, firm or corporation having furnished labor, material or both in the performance of this contract.

The right is reserved, as the interest of the City may require, to reject any and all bids, to waive any informality in bids received, and to select bids best suited to the City’s interest.

A maximum of 60 calendar days will be allowed for construction.

Plans, specifications, and bidding documents may be obtained from the City Secretary’s Office at the City Hall, beginning at 10:00 a.m. on June 11, 2019, upon deposit of Ten Dollars ($10.00) per set, which sum so deposited will not be returned, unless all bids are rejected by the City Council. A copy of Standard Specifications for Public Works Construction - North Central Texas COG Specification books, and amendments may be viewed at the City or may be purchased at NCTCOG in Arlington.

A pre-bid conference will be held at City Hall on June 18, 2019, at 10:00 a.m.
