PUBLIC NOTICE: City of Red Oak Public Notification for Flood Hazard Revisions

PUBLIC NOTIFICATION FOR FLOOD HAZARD REVISIONS

The City of Red Oak Public Works Department, and Ellis County Engineering Department, in accordance with National Flood Insurance Program regulation 65.7(b)(1), hereby gives notice of the City and County’s intent to revise the flood hazard information, generally located along Brushy Creek and generally north of Rushy Creek Trail and south of State Highway 342. 

Specifically, the flood hazard information shall be revised along Brushy Creek from a point approximately 400 feet downstream of Rushy Creek Trail (a County Street) and approximately 1000 feet downstream of State Highway 342.  

As a result of the revision, the floodway shall widen and narrow, the 1% annual chance water-surface elevations shall decrease, and the 1% annual chance floodplain shall narrow and widen within the area of revision.
