PUBLIC NOTICE: CITY OF OVILLA ADVERTISEMENT AND INVITATION FOR BIDS

ADVERTISEMENT AND INVITATION FOR BIDS

 

The City of Ovilla will receive bids for ARPA Improvements at Cumberland Forest Creek, Shiloh Bridge, and Fire Station Driveway until 1:00 PM on Thursday May 9th, 2024, at 105 S Cockrell Hill Rd, Ovilla, TX 75154, at which time the bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.

Bids for this project consist of work at three separate sites: Cumberland Forest – reconstruct channel and line with stone riprap; Shiloh Bridge Repairs – demo existing timber retaining and replace with concrete retaining wall; Fire Station Driveway Repairs - remove and replace concrete pavement.

Bid/Contract Documents, including Drawings and Technical Specifications are available for viewing at the office of Schaumburg & Polk, Inc., 617 West Moore Ave, Suite A, Terrell, TX 75160, and at the City of Ovilla, 105 S Cockrell Hill Rd, Ovilla, TX 75154.

Copies of the Bid/Contract Documents may be obtained online at www.civcastusa.com.  

A bid bond in the amount of 5 percent of the bid issued by an acceptable surety shall be submitted with each bid. A certified check or bank draft payable to the City of Ovilla or negotiable U.S. Government Bonds (as par value) may be submitted in lieu of the Bid Bond.

Attention is called to the fact that not less than, the federally determined prevailing (Davis-Bacon and Related Acts) wage rate, as issued by the Department of Labor and contained in the contract documents, must be paid on this project. In addition, the successful bidder must ensure that employees and applicants for employment are not discriminated against because of race, color, religion, sex, age, sexual identity, gender identity or national origin. 

The lobbying certification must be submitted with the bid packet to be considered complete and responsive. The City of Ovilla is an equal opportunity employer.

The City of Ovilla reserves the right to reject any or all bids or to waive any informalities in the bidding.  

Bids may be held by City of Ovilla for a period not to exceed 60 days from the date of the bid opening for the purpose of reviewing the bids and investigating the bidder’s qualifications prior to the contract award.
