PLANNING AND ZONING COMMISSION AND CITY COUNCIL
City of Wilmer, Texas
In accordance with Chapter 211 of the Texas Local Government Code, the Planning & Zoning Commission and the City Council of the City of Wilmer, Texas, will conduct a public hearing to consider the request of Will Winkelmann, owner representative, to amend the Future Land Use Map (FLUM) designation of Single Family Residential (SFR) to Industrial/Warehouse (I/W) to allow for industrial uses for the subject property located at 300 Mars Road, City of Wilmer, Dallas County, Texas, 75172, also described as E Crockett ABST 223 PG 570, TR 3 ACS 31.29, DCAD account number 65022357010030000.

The purpose of this request is to amend the Future Land Use Map (FLUM). State law requires that zoning should be in conformance with the FLUM. The future land use map indicates that this property is designated as Single Family Residential (SFR). Therefore, this request was made to amend the land use designation to Industrial/Warehouse (I/W) to allow for Industrial uses.
The owner intends to develop the property for the use of Commercial Trailer Sales and Leasing that will include Trailer Storage. This proposed request will have two (2) companion cases, one for a zoning change and another for a conditional use permit, that will each be published separately.
The first public hearing, and possible consideration/action, on this zoning request will be held before the Wilmer Planning & Zoning Commission on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at 6:30 p.m. inside the Wilmer Community Center, 101 Davidson Plaza, Wilmer, TX 75172.
A second public hearing, and possible consideration/action, on this zoning request will be held before the Wilmer City Council on Thursday, January 15, 2025, at 7:00 p.m. inside the Wilmer Community Center, 101 Davidson Plaza, Wilmer, TX 75172.
