The miracles of Jesus (part 4)

“The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, and upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death, Light has dawned.” From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent for the kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” – Matthew 4:16,17

Jesus began His ministry with miracles, signs and wonders validating His existence as the King of all kings and the fact that the kingdom of Heaven had indeed come to earth.

Jesus then began to choose His disciples and proceeded to walk this earth in divine power and glory.

The body of Christ, His church should be a beacon (a fire set up in a high position as a warning, signal or celebration) of light to a world in darkness proclaiming repentance and manifesting the kingdom by signs and wonders; not sitting in pews listening to messages of love and peace with no thought of ever going out and changing a fallen world.

Some say Jesus is not our example, He is our Savior, true but, if He is not our example then who? A pastor, preacher evangelist or pope? No. We are to follow the Lord Jesus Christ as His ambassadors and disciples and to go as He commanded into all the world in His name.

“And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues preaching the gospel of the kingdom and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.” – Matthew 4:23,24
