ON THE JOB TRAINING (part 35)

“If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be My disciple.”LUKE 14:26

Jesus is not telling people to hate their family, He is saying that we are to love Him more.

To the modern Christian in today’s mad world of everything is more important than following Jesus and church is just a number on a very long to-do list, we have missed the mark of discipleship.

In previous messages I have warned of the danger of walking an isle, praying a prayer, getting baptized and calling yourself a disciple of Christ when in fact you were not convicted of your sins and were only convinced by a preacher to ask Jesus to be your personal Savior, as if He is your personal God to do your bidding.

Jesus tells all who would follow Him to count the cost of being His disciple. Are you willing to give up all the things that family demand, job demands or even pleasure demands? There are so many things that are competing for our time and attention that greatly diminish our time for the Lord Jesus and His mission.

“So likewise, whoever of you does not forsake all that he has cannot be My disciple.”LUKE 14:33
