ON THE JOB TRAINING (part 27)

“But he who received seed on the good ground is he who hears the word and understands it, who indeed bears fruit and produces: some a hundredfold, some sixty, some thirty.” MATTHEW 13:23

When the seed of God’s word is planted in good soil, a heart that has been prepared for it, spiritual growth will spring forth! Many have read the Bible, some even studied it or they have been to seminary and hold degrees in various religious study, and even Satan himself knows it backwards and forwards, but unless it enters the heart it will be of no value.

When the gospel of Jesus Christ is preached it is likened to a plow that will break up the fallow ground of the heart. Unless the heart of man is pierced through and convicted of sin it cannot be penetrated nor sown but will remain untouched. One must be convicted of his sins and come to repentance before the life-giving word can be rooted and grounded within him.

Rain and snow represent refreshment in the scripture but when they continue to cover the ground throughout the years without being plowed up, the ground becomes hard as rock. So it is with the heart of man, when one hears the Word over and over but never becomes a doer of it and not just a hearer his heart becomes hard and he becomes religious.

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” JOHN 15:7,8
