ON THE JOB TRAINING (part 20)

“Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. – MATTHEW 10:16

You will find out if you are serious about following Jesus that the sinner will not be your greatest enemy, but the religious folks will be. Saved from a life of drugs and alcohol, I wandered into a Baptist church that was about to experience revival.

I was on fire for Jesus, but the older church folks quickly tried to put out the fire by telling me that I would eventually cool off and become just like them. The Pastor told them, “Leave him alone!” I was truly a thorn in their flesh praising God and testifying of His grace and mercy. One Sunday in praise and worship the Holy Spirit prompted me to raise my hands to the Lord, something that no one had ever done in that church – and you could hear them gasp when it happened.

It was the talk of their Christian school on Monday that Mr. Laughlin had raised his hands. Glory to God. Eventually when revival hit, the old religious crowd left and when I was baptized there were over one hundred baptized that day in the lake. What a glorious time that was of fellowship and the saving grace of the Lord Jesus Christ.

And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.” – MATTHEW 10:22
