ON THE JOB TRAINING (part 11)

Now when Jesus had entered Capernaum, a centurion came to Him, pleading with Him,  saying, “Lord, my servant is lying at home paralyzed, dreadfully tormented.” And Jesus said to Him, “I will come and heal him.”MATTHEW 8:5-7

The centurion was a Gentile in the service of Rome but evidently had followed Jesus and had seen or had heard that He heals the sick. When Jesus told him he would come and heal his servant the centurion said he wasn’t worthy for Jesus to enter his home but for Him to just say the word and he believed his servant would be healed.

Jesus was amazed at such great faith, especially for a Gentile to believe Him and take Him at His word. We should all as believers have the same faith that this Gentile had to have the audacity to ask the Lord Jesus Christ to heal his servant. Jesus wants us to believe. This is what we are called to do, the same things as Jesus did, heal the sick, cast out demons and even raise the dead.

We as the body of the risen Lord are His agents of healing and deliverance, called to be His servants in the earth. We are ambassadors of the very Kingdom of God. It is God’s divine will for us to become the living breathing representation of His Son on this planet, to do that which He was called to do and even greater works than He did because He ascended to the Father.

Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour.MATTHEW 8:13
