The dynamics of discipleship (part 33)

“The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me to give recovery of sight to the blind.” LUKE 4:18

There are two kinds of sight, physical sight and spiritual sight and we have been given the authority to recover both.

Jesus said to heal the sick, cast out demons and open blind eyes in His name and by the anointing He has given us.

My pastor, mentor and friend, David went blind a few years ago from Macular Degeneration. David is as close to a man after God’s own heart as I have seen in my journey, and I believe when God finishes the work on his spiritual sight that his physical sight will be restored.

Although our ability to see with our eyes is very important, spiritual sight is imperative for us to defeat our unseen enemies.

We are spiritual people who walk in the light of the Lord, but many never gain their spiritual sight because they have their eyes fixed on the lusts of the world.

We must see in the Spirit to gain wisdom, understanding and revelation of His word.

“That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints.” EPHESIANS 1:17,18
