The dynamics of discipleship (part 11)

Be diligent to present yourself approved to God, a worker who does not need to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.II TIMOTHY 2:15

The word of the living God is His will for you to know and understand your calling, your ministry, and your destiny. Many get saved and wander into a church and for the rest of their life, they are fed the traditions and doctrines of men and in many cases, demons.

It is imperative for the new believer to study, meditate, and discern God’s word for himself so that he can tell what others are teaching him is true. Millions are deceived by denominational teaching and like newborn babies, they are filled with whatever is being shoved down their throats and end up filled with false doctrine. The tradition and doctrines of men. The word explicitly tells us to beware of false prophets, false teachers, and false doctrine.

I was witnessing an evangelical outreach on the streets of Nashville years ago when I approached a woman sitting down and asked her if she was born again and she about bit my head off and said, “I’m a Southern Baptist!”

And that’s the problem – the lady was a Baptist before she claimed to be a believer. Probably walked an aisle, prayed the prayer, and has been sitting in the pew all these years, “lost as a goose in a snowstorm.”

Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the wicked, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of scoffers; but his delight is in the law of the LORD, and in his law he meditates day and night. He is like a tree planted by streams of water that yields its fruit in its season, and its leaf does not wither. In all that he does, he prospers.PSALM 1:1-3
