BLOOD COVENANT (part 10)

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him; He has put Him to grief. When You make His soul an offering for sin, He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand. He shall see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied. By His knowledge My righteous Servant shall justify (pardon) many, For He shall bear their iniquities.ISAIAH 53:10,11

Jesus was beaten and bruised beyond recognition for our iniquities. Iniquity is defined as crookedness, perverseness, or an evil regarded as that which is not straight or upright, moral distortion or perverted. Jesus bled inside being bruised to forgive our iniquities and wash away our sins with His own blood.

Beaten likened to a prizefighter would have made His face swollen and bruised so badly that He would not have been recognized even by His own mother. He took upon Himself the iniquities of all mankind and the punishment that we deserved. Imagine the weight of the iniquity of the world from the time of Adam until today, heaped upon the shoulders of the Lord Jesus Christ, an unimaginable punishment in itself crushing Him.

His blood healed the bruising of our iniquities as He bled inside His body for us to whom the punishment was due, breaking the generational curses that have been inherited by millions of unsuspecting people for eons. The Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world.

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned, every one, to his own way; And the Lord has laid on Him the iniquity of us all.ISAIAH 53:5,6
