BLOOD COVENANT (part 1)

And as they were eating, Jesus took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to the disciples and said, “Take, eat; this is My body.” Then He took the cup, and gave thanks, and gave it to them, saying, “Drink from it, all of you. For this is My blood of the new covenant, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.” – MATTHEW 26:27,28

Salvation is not about praying a prayer, walking an isle or being baptized and joining the church. Salvation is about the remission of your sins. Remission means to forgive, pardon, to gain relief, and to refrain from enforcing punishment.

Today in the religious world, the precious blood of the Lord Jesus is hardly ever spoken of not wanting to upset some by the fact that Jesus was beaten, whipped and cruelly executed on a rugged tree. Inviting Jesus to be your own personal Savior is much easier with less thought of someone shedding His own blood.

The ugly truth of the most important matter to be discussed in the world is the hardcore fact that Jesus, the Lamb of God was slaughtered for us because of our sins and He took the punishment for us to whom it was due.

And according to the law almost all things are purified (cleansed) with blood, and without the shedding of blood there is no remission (forgiveness) of sins. – HEBREWS 9:22
