The Ellis County Press’ annual graduation magazine has sadly come to an end.

For more than three decades, the newspaper has recognized the achievements of Ellis County’s youth by assembling each school yearbook into one comprehensive publication.

The magazine evolved from a newsprint tab to a glossy magazine in recent years.

ECP recognized smaller towns and communities, where neighbors may attend different schools, but wishing to participate in the celebration of all high school graduates in Ellis County.

“We launched this in 1995, but unfortunately time has progressed, and we must adapt accordingly” said Publisher Charles D. Hatfield Jr.

“We are stopping the publication of our graduation magazine, not because we want to end the celebration, but because of new rules about using photographs of our youth and the need for parental consent forms.

“We have decided to discontinue our graduation magazine celebration, but we will still celebrate our graduation students but in a different manner.

“We hope you enjoy looking back at some of the covers that have been published celebrating Ellis County graduates.”
