DESOTO – Senior Samari Collier had 347 total yards and four touchdowns to lead DeSoto over Waxahachie 42-6 in a District 11-6A matchup.
Samari connected on touchdown passes of 33, 28 and 14 yards for DeSoto (3-0, 1-0). Robert Richardson added two touchdowns rushing to help in the win.
Roderick Hartsfield had 148 total yards and one touchdown for Waxahachie (1-2, 0-0). Hartsfield scored on 64-yard touchdown run to put Waxahachie up 6-0 early in the first quarter.
DeSoto’s defense proved their No. 2 6A SportsDayHS area ranking by holding Waxahachie to 166 total yards and forcing two turnovers.
