The Ferris Public Library’s Annual Summer Reading Program will be here before you know it! Maricela and her Puppet Family will be visiting on Wednesday, June 12, at 11 a.m. This is Maricela’s first time to perform here; she comes highly recommended! For a calendar of all the activities scheduled for our Summer Reading Club come by the library or become a “Fan” on the library Facebook page.

Loujeanne Guye Ministries will be presenting a free Community Conference in the library’s Aubrey Trussell Meeting Room on Saturday, June 1 from 10 a.m. – Noon. The theme for this meeting is “Restoring Hope When Life Crushes You!” Ms. Guye is energetic and desires to be a part of our community by bringing positive programming on a variety of topics. Please come out to support her and share in her enthusiasm.

The library’s After-School Game Time and Story Time are not held during the summer months. We will resume these programs once school starts.

New Books: “The Never Game” by Jeffery Deaver, “Dark Tribute” by Iris Johansen, “The Library of Lost and Found” by Phaedra Patrick, “My Lovely Wife” by Samantha Downing, “Run Away” by Harlan Coben, “The Path Made Clear: Discovering Your Life’s Direction and Purpose” (Dewey 121) by Oprah Winfrey, “The CBD Oil Miracle: Manage Pain, Improve Your Mood, Boost Your Brain, Fight Inflammation, Clear Your Skin, Strengthen Your Heart, and Sleep Better With the Healing Power” (Dewey 615) by Laura Lagano, and “Love Poems: For Married People” (Dewey 811) by John Kenney. FYI: The poem book is hilarious.

Word of the Week: Lollygag first surfaced around 1868. The definition of “lollygag” is someone who is messing around or wasting time. It also refers to someone who is doing something that isn’t serious or useful. This would be a great word to use when you’re procrastinating, “I’m just lollygagging.”
