WORD OF THE WEEK: “Perseverance” (pur-suh-veer-uhns): continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition (noun). Dr Seuss's first children’s book, “And to Think That I Saw it on Mulberry Street” was published in 1937. Few people know that it was rejected 27 times by various publishers before it was finally published. So, what enabled him to become one of the most loved and respected authors in the world? His perseverance. He never gave up on his dream.

The library is located at 301 E. 10th St., across from Mutz Ballpark. Library staff may be reached at ferrislibrary@ferristexas.gov or (972) 544-2110, Option 9.
