FERRIS PUBLIC LIBRARY: More than Books (January 30, 2025)
The Ferris Public Library is proud to be one of 45 Texas libraries awarded a 2024 Texas Book Festival Collections Enhancement Grant.
This funding enables libraries to share the diversity and breadth of literature with their entire communities.
We are using this grant to enhance our collection, with a focus on materials ranging from early Spanish readers to adult Spanish resource.
I am thrilled to offer more reading opportunities to our Spanish-speaking and bilingual readers.
Each year, funds raised during the Annual Texas Book Festival Weekend support grants that are distributed to libraries across Texas the following year.
To date, the organization has funded 1,442 grants totaling more than $3.6 million to 600+ libraries in every corner of the state.
STORY TIME is hosted every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Children are treated to stories, fun activities, and a snack. Before leaving, your child may choose a prize from the treasure chest to take home.

BOOK BLURB: “JFK Jr.: An Intimate Oral Biography” by RoseMarie Terenzio. The first oral biography of John F. Kennedy Jr. is an extraordinarily intimate and detailed look at the real man behind the myth. Sharing never-before-told stories, his closest friends, confidantes, lovers, classmates, teachers, and colleagues paint a vivid portrait of one of the most beloved figures of the 20th century who still captures public imagination twenty-five years after his tragic death.
The library is located at 301 E. 10th St., across from Mutz Ballpark. Library staff may be reached at ferrislibrary@ferristexas.gov or (972) 544-2110, Option 9.
