If you get a chance, drive by the Ferris Public Library and see how appealing our new landscaping looks. We adore it and would also appreciate a visit from you. You’ll notice positive changes throughout the City, it’s delightful and fills me with pride.

There’s still plenty of time for your child to come check out a Black History Month book and have a chance of winning one of three $5.00 gift cards. We have “flagged” several of the books on display so there’s an equal chance of winning for all ages of children, plus getting to enjoy the book.

We have the 1040 and 1040-SR forms and instruction books for those who like to go the paper route. Form 1040 has been redesigned, and the 1040-SR has been introduced for use by taxpayers age 65 or older. Staff members may also retrieve various forms for you from IRS.gov but are not allowed to help you fill out tax papers. Copies are 10¢ per page. If you prefer to file your taxes online and are not a member of the Ferris Public Library, you may ask for a guest pass. Guest passes are free and are good for two computer sessions before a library membership is required.

After-School Game Time is held every Tuesday from 3:30 – 5:30 p.m. for children ages 7 to 17. Children can play Wii and PS4 games on the large screen in our meeting room. Several kids have also been playing board games, so they are available too.

Story Time is hosted each Wednesday at 11 a.m. for preschool children and their caregivers. Children are treated to stories, snacks, and activities. At the end of Story Time, each child may pick a toy from the Treasure Chest to take home with them.

New Books: “Smoke Screen” by Terri Blackstock, “Moral Compass” by Danielle Steel, “Tom Clancy Code of Honor: A Jack Ryan Novel” by Marc Cameron, “The Confession Club” by Elizabeth Berg, “Synapse” (LP) by Steven James, “The Jackals” (LP) by William W.
