Construction underway for Red Oak Middle School

RED OAK – On April 9, Red Oak ISD secured the final construction permit for middle school #2 from the City of Ovilla. 

The step was possible after Ovilla Planning & Zoning Committee and Ovilla City Council approved the Final Plat, on April 1 and April 8, respectively.

Joeris Construction began the first of around 500 piers on Monday, April 15.

That evening, the ROISD Board approved New Middle School Bid Package #3 at $53,852,014 for the remainder of building packages and trades. When combined with Bid Packages 1 & 2, the Construction Guaranteed Maximum Price is $76,014,674. Additional voter-approved bond funds, or interest from the bonds, will be used for FFE (furniture, fixtures, and equipment), technology, indirect costs, and any additional unexpected costs.

Current projections for the total cost are below the $97.5M approved by district voters in May 2023.
