Over 200 local children and their parents turned out for the Citywide Easter Egg Hunt on Apr. 18 at Watkins Park. This annual event is hosted by the City of Red Oak Parks and Recreation Commission.
Approximately 20,000 candy and or prize filled eggs were used in this year’s event. Participants were divided into four age groups with one section for special needs children, many won prizes after the hunt with one participant in each age group winning a large toy filled Easter basket.
Parks and Recreation Commission Chairperson, Ginny Lindsey said “We want to thank the Red Oak Lions Club for their donation and helping out at the prize tables, the Red Oak Police Explorers Post #1132, Red Oak Fire Rescue and Public Works staff for all their help and support. We had a successful turnout and a good time was had by all.”
