Red Oak defense gives up 37 points in the first quarter alone – falls to Sachse 64-42

RED OAK – The Red Oak Hawks fell to the Class 6A Garland Sachse Mustangs 64-42 under the Friday Night Lights at Billy Goodloe Stadium.The Mustangs got the scoring started early and often, with Luke Keefer scoring on a four-yard touchdown run on Sachse’s first possession.

ENNIS — Devion Beasley scored a diving go-ahead 14-yard touchdown run with 2:52 left in the game as Ennis (2-0) beat Keller Fossil Ridge.Fossil Ridge got the lead early, scoring 14 points in the first quarter. Ennis came back, taking the lead in the 3rd quarter, 28-21.

KENNEDALE — Midlothian Heritage’s Jason Barela ran for 90 yards and two touchdowns on 26 carries in a win over Kennedale.After a scoreless first quarter, Heritage scored 15 unanswered points before the half, highlighted by a 41-yard scoop and score by Temerick Johnson.

ENNIS – The Ennis Lions opened with two quick touchdowns in the 1st quarter, putting the Red Oak Hawks in a big hole against the #7 ranked 5A team in the state.The Hawks defense found itself out of position and chasing plays until midway through the 2nd quarter.
