Red Oak steamrolls Cleburne, 72-0

RED OAK – Coming off a close win over Joshua, the Red Oak Hawks (4-3, 2-1) rolled over the Yellowjackets (0-8, 0-4) from Cleburne on Homecoming night.The Hawks scored on all but two of their possessions. The Yellowjackets could not stop the Hawks ground game or air attack.

Avalon beats Milford 64-14, moves to 7-0

AVALON – Avalon coasted by the Milford Bulldogs at home Friday night to the tune of 64-14, keeping their perfect season alive. The Eagles might be getting used to big wins, seeing as the team has won six games by 46 points or more this season.

Waxahachie 24, Cedar Hill 13

WAXAHACHIE  –  Wade Lemons scored twice, and Waxahachie’s 21-point second quarter proved to be the difference in a win over Cedar Hill.

Italy takes control, hands Axtell first loss, 21-7

ITALY – The Italy Gladiators, under the guidance of AD/Head Football Coach Mike Loveless, faced their biggest test of the season Friday night as the undefeated Axtell Longhorns herded into Gladiator Stadium, also boasting an undefeated record – as well as winning 16 out of their last 17 games.

Hawks sneak past Joshua, 21-14

JOSHUA – The Red Oak Hawks varsity football team traveled on Friday, Oct. 12 for a district contest against the Joshua Owls. Red Oak took their first possession and marched down the field going up early, 7-0. The defense stymied Joshua’s offense in the first half of the game.

Midlothian 37, Burleson Centennial 33

BURLESON – Brendyn Jackson had two touchdown receptions in the fourth quarter, including an 8-yarder from Beau Wendel with 13 seconds left to lift Midlothian (6-1,3-0) to a District 7-5A victory over host Burleson Centennial at BISD Stadium.

MESQUITE – Jerry Meyer III threw for 215 yards and two touchdowns to lead Waxahachie over upset-minded Mesquite Horn in 11-6A Division I play at Hanby Stadium.
