Life Waxahachie beats Brownsboro by a touchdown, 21-14

BROWNSBORO – Jalen Mann had 185 total yards and three touchdowns to lead Life Waxahachie over Brownsboro 21-14 at Bear Stadium. Mann had the go ahead score on a 24-yard run with 1:20 left in the game. Detyrian McCoy had 291 yards passing with one touchdown for Life Waxahachie (1-2).

Midlothian Heritage tops Decatur 28-25

DECATUR – Midlothian Heritage topped Decatur 28-25 thanks to a goal-line stand from the 1-yard line on the final play of the game. Earlier, senior running back Cullen Stone scored the go-ahead score with 57 seconds left.

FERRIS BOUNCES BACK, BEATS FORT WORTH BENBROOK 20-17

FERRIS – Senior Quarterback Nate Aguinaga threw only two passes, but he accounted for three touch-downs to lead Ferris to its first victory of the season, 20-17 over Fort Worth Benbrook on Friday. Aguinaga’s first completion of the game came with 18.

Athens 48, Life Waxahachie 20   WAXAHACHIE  – With more than 500 yards of offense, Athens defeated Life Waxahachie. Athens (2-0) got on the scoreboard first with a 43-yard interception return by Gage Friedrich. Ty Arroyo connected on a 34 -yard touchdown pass to Jarred Duff to put Athens up 14-0.

Panthers swat Yellowjackets in season opener, 20-6

MAYPEARL – With much anticipation, Class 1A-4A football kicked-off on August 28 across most of Texas, including a cross county 3A matchup between the Ferris Yellowjackets and Maypearl Panthers.  Getting in the gate alone is much different than before.

Godley 50, Life Waxahachie 7

GODLEY – Kolby Bartlett proved to be a workhorse, carrying the ball 31 times for 201 yards as Godley rolled. Godley’s defense and special teams chipped in on the scoring. Isacc Paniagua scooped up a fumble and ran it back 11-yards for a touchdown in the second quarter.
