Hawks bounce back, defeat Midlothian 46-35

After a tough loss on the road to Colleyville-Heritage last week, the Hawks bounced back with a 46-35 win over District rival Midlothian HS, in what may have been the Hawks best all-around team performance.

Waxahachie 21, Mansfield 7

MANSFIELD – Brandon Hawkins Jr. scored two touchdowns and accounted for 220 total yards to lead Waxahachie over Mansfield 21-7 and into the playoffs. Waxahachie (4-4, 3-2 District 11-6A) used the run game to dictate tempo. Running back Shawn Cherry added a touchdown and 73 yards on the ground.

Wilmer-Hutchins 31, Kaufman 28

Wilmer-Hutchins will face defending state runner-up Waco La Vega (8-2) next week at a date and site to be determined.   KF – Derek Clamon 3 run (Andres Gallegos kick). WH – Jalin Moore 45 pass from Andre Henderson (Landan Ontiveros kick). KF – Derek Clamon 8 run (Andres Gallegos kick).

Colleyville Heritage defense comes up big against Red Oak, 27-13

Unbeaten Colleyville Heritage is alone atop District 4-5A Division 1 after the Panther defense came up big early and late Friday night in a 27-13 victory over Red Oak at Mustang-Panther Stadium.
