Ferris ISD employee fired for inappropriate student communication

FERRIS – The Ferris Independent School District was made aware of the possible inappropriate communication between an ISD employee and student last week on Nov. 20.An immediate investigation was opened and correspondence went out to Ferris ISD students’ parents confirming the report.

Waxahachie 1st Responders mourn passing of colleague

WAXHACHIE – First responders in Waxahachie are mourning the loss of one of their own, Pump Engineer/Inspector Kevin Lindsey who passed away last week. Lindsey died while off-duty leaving not only Waxahachie Fire-Rescue, but also the Waxahachie Police Department with heavy hearts.

MIDLOTHIAN – A Midlothian law enforcement officer who lost his life in the line of duty in October 1987 will have the street, which the new Midlothian Public Safety and Municipal Court facility will be located on once complete named after him; George Raffield Jr. Way.

State Rep. Carl Sherman’s rare heart condition leads to open heart surgery last week

FERRIS – District 109 Texas State Representative Carl Sherman, whose district includes neighboring cities Lancaster, DeSoto and parts of Glenn Heights and Ovilla, underwent open heart surgery last week on Friday for a rare heart condition called hypertrophic obstructive cardiomyopathy.

Ennis begins exit process of Texas nursing facilities program
