Ferris ISD employee fired for inappropriate student communication

FERRIS – The Ferris Independent School District was made aware of the possible inappropriate communication between an ISD employee and student last week on Nov. 20.An immediate investigation was opened and correspondence went out to Ferris ISD students’ parents confirming the report.

Waxahachie 1st Responders mourn passing of colleague

WAXHACHIE – First responders in Waxahachie are mourning the loss of one of their own, Pump Engineer/Inspector Kevin Lindsey who passed away last week. Lindsey died while off-duty leaving not only Waxahachie Fire-Rescue, but also the Waxahachie Police Department with heavy hearts.

Ferris proclaims National American Indian Heritage Month

FERRIS – Mellanie Cain, chair of the American Indians Committee for the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution and chair for CCNT Membership and Outreach, collaborated with Ferris Mayor Fred Pontley, to officially proclaim November as National American Indian Heritage Month in Ferris.

Ovilla’s Christmas tree lighting set for Dec. 5

OVILLA – The City of Ovilla will light its Christmas tree on Thursday, Dec. 5.The Annual Christmas Tree Lighting will begin at 6 p.m. at Heritage Park, 675 W. Main Street.
