Driver struck officer during chase

WAXAHACHIE – John Kelly Forbes, 34, was convicted by a jury and sentenced to 30 years for aggravated assault of a police officer, according to Ellis County and District Attorney Ann Montgomery.

RED OAK – The Red Oak ISD tabled a vote until the August school board meeting pending a request for additional data points including students’ success rates regarding a successful 10-year ISD program called Edgenuity.

WAXAHACHIE – For tourists who wander up on the Ellis County Courthouse in the heart of the City of Waxahachie it is at once beautiful and intimidating at the same time. Intimidating because it is older than anyone in the county at this point and if it could talk it would have some stories to tell.
