Wilmer Council names Nov. 6 ‘Rev. Grady Jackson Day’

WILMER – The Wilmer City Council named Nov. 6 “Rev. Grady Jackson Day.” The proclamation was presented to Full Gospel Holiness Church at the Nov. 3 city council meeting and was a reminder of the importance of faith-based organizations in the community, particularly Reverend Grady Jackson’s leadership at Full Gospel Holiness Church where they are celebrating 54-years of service this year.

Wilmer Fire Department Interim Fire Chief Harris recognized nine of the department’s staff for dedication and excellence at the city council meeting, including Captain Jason Hogan for his excellence in taking on the added responsibility of captain in charge of the department in the absence of a fire chief recently.

Other excellence awards went to Brandt Burleson for taking on the added responsibility of the Fire Hose and Ladder Testing Programs, as well as taking on the added responsibility of the training, continuing education and certification programs for the Wilmer Fire Department.

Bryce Cook was recognized for the added responsibility of the ESO Reporting System and Medical Supplies Programs.

Dylon Diaz for the added responsibility of the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Maintenance and Testing Program.

Kevin Driggars for the stepping up to shift captain in the absence of a city fire chief, and for taking on the responsibility of the Equipment Maintenance and the Personal Protective Equipment Programs.

Tim Hack for stepping up as shift captain in the absence of a fire chief and the added responsibility of the Station Maintenance, Hand Tools and Records Keeping Programs.

Finally, Hunter Lubin was recognized for the added responsibility of the Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus Maintenance and Testing Program, Parker McCarthy for taking on the added responsibility of the Uniform Program, and Austin Romero for taking on the added responsibility of the Station Maintenance and Hiring Coordinator Programs for the Wilmer Fire Department.
