Ennis Police searching for 2 men in last week’s shooting

ENNIS – The Ennis Police Department is seeking the public’s help involving a shooting that took place last week in the vicinity of Phillips Drive.

The shooting occurred last Sunday, Dec. 4 at around 10 p.m. when an Ennis resident who was in his vehicle was shot at multiple times.

The incident began when the resident who lives in the 2700 block of Boyd Lane went to answer his door and observed two black males, approximately 5'8" to 5'10" with medium builds, leaving the residence in a dark colored Nissan Rogue.

Unsure of why the two men were at his door, the resident decided to follow the males to get a better description of the two suspects.

He located the two men on Phillips Drive in Ennis, and when he approached the subjects in the Nissan a handgun was pointed out the window towards the resident.

One of the unidentified men in the Nissan Rogue fired several rounds at the resident, but the resident was not struck by the gunfire.

But, his vehicle did take a bullet.

Ennis Police  are actively investigating this shooting and is asking anyone who might know about the incident to contact Detective Sgt. Rodney Rickman at (972) 875-4455 ext. 2293.

As a reminder the Ennis Police also stressed, “Anyone who feels they might be a victim of a crime, call the Police Department and not take matters into your own hands.”
