FERRIS – National Night Out has been celebrated since 1984. This year, due to COVID-19, many cities have canceled the event. Normally held in August because of the Texas heat – it is held in October instead.

Now is the time to be counted in the 2020 Census! Data collection will end on September 30, and the U.S. Census Bureau is encouraging everyone in North Texas to respond between now and the deadline of September 30.    Currently, North Texas holds a 68.

OVILLA CONTINUES TO GROW

OVILLA – The City of Ovilla continues to grow.   Recently, the Broadmoor Estates residential subdivision at the northwest corner of Westmoreland Road and Red Oak Creek Road broke ground as part of the city’s continuing growth. Phase One of Broadmoor Estates will have 84 residential lots.

Ferris confirms new city hall

FERRIS – Changes are afoot in Ferris.  The city is designing and renovating a new city hall to serve the community into the future, according to Ferris City Manager Brooks Williams.

New digs for Red Oak Chamber

RED OAK – The Red Oak Chamber of  Commerce has a new home. Moving offices from the State Farm Building the week of Aug. 14, the new location is on Ovilla Road inside the Access Self Storage office.
