Wilmer will celebrate National Night Out

WILMER – The City of Wilmer will be having its annual National Night Out celebration Tuesday, Oct. 6.  Wilmer Police Chief Victor Kemp said several weeks ago he felt strongly about hosting the event even with COVID-19 causing many cities to cancel.
This year’s golf tournament will be held at Country View Golf Course in Lancaster.

RO Chamber hosting annual golf tournament this week

RED OAK - The Red Oak Area Chamber Classic Golf Tournament has been hosted by the Chamber of Commerce for the past 31 years. Normally the golf tournament is held in May – this year COVID-19 affected that too.

Motorcycle crash injures 1

FERRIS - On Sept. 11, at approximately 9:32 p.m., Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers were called to a one vehicle crash on FM 660 approximately 150 feet east of Newton Road in Ellis County.

Juvenile shot in Waxahachie in stable condition

Midlothian opens new fire station

MIDLOTHIAN – The City of Midlothian recently celebrated the opening of a new fire station located on US Highway 287 and West Main Street (1900 West Main Street).  The new state-of-the-art station replaces the current Fire Station No. 1 on 8th Street.

Ferris student tests positive for COVID-19

FERRIS – Last week a student at Ferris High School received a positive test result for COVID-19. The student had been at the Ferris ISD campus during the morning hours.  The name and information regarding the student was not released.

Ferris COP program offered

The Ferris “Citizens On Patrol” (COP) program is accepting applications.  “This is the first program in Ferris of its kind,” said Ferris Chief of Police John DeLeon. “I’m truly excited to implement the program to the citizens of Ferris.
