JV Lady Hawks have successful week
RED OAK - The JV Lady Hawks were flying high as they easily won over the Terrell Lady Tigers on Tuesday, Aug. 31, 25-8 and 25-13. The Lady Hawks were led with great hitting from Chloe Davis, Rachel Hearn, Kristin Kistner and Elyse Berlin, while Taylor Anderson, Davis and Alex Fletcher kept the Lady Tigers off balance with awesome serving. Mallory Perkins, Andrea McFarlane and Dazha Jackson dominated the net for the Lady Hawks.
The Lady Hawks were in Lancaster on Friday night to take on the Lady Tigers.
The Lady Hawks came on strong from the beginning and never let up. It was smooth sailing as the Lady Hawks won 25-9 and 25-10. Again, tremendous serving from Demi Burnett, McFarlane, Davis and Berlin led the way. Fletcher and Davis led the hitting attack.
On Saturday, the Lady Hawks placed 2nd in consolation at the Arlington Lamar Tournament.
They played Lamar in the first round and lost the first set 15-25. But the Lady Hawks came back strong in the second set with outstanding play from the whole team and won 25-14 . It was back and forth in the third set with Lamar coming out on top 26-24.
Red Oak played Mansfield Legacy in the first round of the consolation bracket. Playing strong, the Lady Hawks won 25-22 and 25-14.
They had a tough match in the next round against Bishop Lynch but pulled it out 25-16, 20-25 and 25-21. In the final match against Plano East, they lost 25-17 and 25-14.
