DHS teams win silver in State Meet

DeSoto - The DHS Girls’ and Boys’ Track Teams won second place in the team competition at the 5A State Track Meet on May 14-15.

The girls finished with 36 points to Skyline’s 56 points. Anna Robinson finished second in the long jump and the 4x400 relay (Gamble, Cowan, Hami-lton, Williams) also took second place.

The 4x100 relay (Mills, Williams, Okoro, Chadwick) took fourth and Chrishuna Willliams finished fourth in the 400 meter dash.

The boys finished with 64 points to Galena Park North Shore’s 88 points but brought home gold in the 4x100 relay and 4x200 relay both run by Marcus Murphy, Traun Robe-rson, Devin Sanders and Regin-ald Reed.

Kenneth Minkah won the 110 meter hurdles.

Traun Roberson and Devin Sanders finished third and fourth in the 200 M.

Congratulations to head coaches Mark Brady and June Villers along with the entire track staff and all student athletes on another successful season.
