RED OAK - Many of the local Red Oak and Ovilla youth baseball teams competed in the Best Southwest Baseball Spring 2010 Post Season Tournament on Saturday, May 22 and Sunday, 23. Games were held in Red Oak, Cedar Hill, DeSoto and Duncanville.
The ROBSA hosted the 8U (coach pitch) and 9U games at Lindsey Park.
In the 8U division, all the local teams: RO Mustangs, Ovilla Mustangs, RO Crush and RO Heat advanced deep into the tournament on Sunday with the RO Crush and RO Mustangs coming within one game of playing each other for the Championship game, but both lost very close ball games.
The only local 9U team in the tournament was the RO Rebels who played a double header to start the tournament, winning both games and in the end, matched up against a team that had beaten them three times during the regular season.
This time the Rebels had the Duncanville Red Sox number and beat them to bring home the Championship in an exciting final game.
The RO Twins in the 13U division also brought home a first place trophy.
Congratulations to all the local teams.
All the local teams had a great following of parents and fans and displayed the utmost class and sportsmanship regardless of the outcome.
