RED OAK - After a lost to Forney in a key District game, the Lady Hawks were due to play the Lady Tigers on Friday, April 2, but due to rain, their game was moved to Monday, April 5.
The Lady Tigers caught the Lady Hawks off guard in the first inning as they scored two runs on walked batters and a throwing error by the Lady Hawks, but that would be the extent of the Lady Tigers offense for the night.
Once the Lady Hawks came up to bat, it was pretty much over.
Walks, throwing errors and some well timed hits by the Lady Hawks put the Lady Tigers in a deep hole.
It ended up being one of those games where Coach Thibodeaux got to play some of her younger and less experienced players for a while.
The Lady Hawks went on to win 23-2.
The Lady Hawks had a short turn around and traveled to West Mesquite on Tuesday, April 6.
The Lady Hawks wasted no time at West Mesquite as they blanked the Lady Wranglers 22-0.
They then hosted the Lady Panthers of Mabank Friday, April 9 at home.
In a closely contested game, the Lady Hawks emerged victorious with a 4-3 win.
The Lady Hawks at press time are in second place in District 15-4A and just one game back behind Forney, who they will meet during the last regular game of the season in Forney.
