RED OAK - The Lady Hawks opened their home district play on Friday, March 12 against W. Mesquite and what an opening it was.

After the Lady Hawks sent the first three W. Mesquite batters back to the dugout, the Lady Hawks’ Tara McKenney (#3) got things started with a bunt and on an over throw by the W. Mesquite’s catcher, she turned it into the Lady Hawks first run of the night diving across the plate and beating the throw home.

The Lady Hawks kept the bats hot scoring five runs in the first inning.

Freshman pitcher Marley Dickert (#16) was impressive on the mound and didn’t give up a hit while she was in the game.

The Lady Hawks scored nine more runs through the next four innings and only gave up one hit in the fifth as they went on to beat W. Mesquite 14-0.
