RED OAK - The Varsity baseball team got back on the winning track on Tuesday, March 9 against Lancaster.

Everyone got into the act in the district opener as the Hawks scored 24 runs on their way to beating Lancaster 24 to 0.

The Hawks didn’t have to swing the bat much in their first at bat due to numerous walks, but in the second inning, the Hawks peppered the Tigers’ pitchers to take a 20-0 lead after two innings.

The Hawks then traveled to Ennis to play in the Ennis baseball tournament last weekend.

The Hawks made into the Championship bracket and took on the Seagoville Dragons Saturday morning.

After a scoreless first inning, the Dragons caught the Hawks by surprised in the second inning and put up two runs.

The Hawks woke up in the bottom of the second and laid it on the Dragons putting up nine runs.

The Hawks held the Dragons scoreless in the third, then put up four more runs taking a commanding 13-3 lead into the top of the fifth.

The Dragons needed to score at least one run to extend the game, but the Ha-wks pitching and defense denied that.

The Hawks played Sulfur Springs in the Championship game and went on to win the Ennis Tournament beating Sulfur Springs 13-8.
