For the fans who braved the cold weather Tuesday evening, the Ferris varsity boy’s soccer team gave them something to cheer about.
After the first half of intense play, Ferris had a 2-0 lead.
Less than six minutes into the second half of play, Argyle scored a goal to cut Ferris’ lead in half.
Both teams would battle it out for over 20 minutes before Argyle was able to score again to tie the game at two goals each.
With 2:20 left in the game, Ferris fought their way down the field to attempt the game winning goal but the ball went just wide of the net.
Neither team was able to score again before the end of regulation causing a sudden death shootout between the teams.
Both teams made their first shots to retie the game at three all.
Argyle would miss their next two attempts and the second of Ferris’ next two attempts gave the Yellow Jackets a one goal lead. That was all the scoring that took place as Ferris took the victory at home, 4-3.
