Former Waxahachie star is lending her basketball talent to the Mean Green

WAXAHACHIE - She was a stand-out at Waxahachie High School, and now Torrian Timms is in her third season as a member of the University of North Texas’ Women’s Basketball team.
Her senior year of high school she was ranked the 48th best senior in the state of Texas (Texashoops.com).
She was also selected all-district three times including a first-team all-district selection her junior year.
As a member of the Mean Green, the 6’0" junior post played in four games her freshman season and was named to the North Texas Athletic Director’s Honor Roll.
Torrian played in 14 games last season scoring in seven of those games including a season and career high four points against Sam Houston State.
Last Wednesday, Torrian helped the Mean Green snap a six game losing streak in a 76-69 victory over the Pioneers of Denver University.
She was 1-4 in field goals with three total rebounds in 14 minutes of play.
Denver came out strong taking a quick early lead over the Mean Green, but the Eagles never stopped fighting.
At half-time Denver was up 34-25, but North Texas regrouped and brought their fight in the second half. UNT caught up within five minutes of the second half.
The two teams traded off the point lead until North Texas put the game away in the last five minutes of the game.
