FERRIS - The referees from this game should get lumps of coal in their stockings.

For those who attended the game between Ferris and Wills Point I’m sure you will agree.

Ferris went into this game looking for lucky win 13 with a 12-1 record on the season so far.

After blazing out to a quick lead, Ferris was stuck at 14 points allowing Wills Point to close the gap.

With the help of some missed free throws on Wills Point’s side, Ferris was able to stay on top 16-12 after the first period.

Wills Point kept the score close in the second and third periods as Ferris missed some easy shots and seemed to be lacking in rhythm.

With the fourth period came the Grinches disguised as referees.

Ferris endured penalty after penalty as Wills Point was able to make the same moves for no fault.

The seconds could not tick off the clock fast enough for Ferris players and fans.

As the remaining minute and a half ticked off the clock the Wills Point players became frenzied.

Their charges to the basket not only failed to result in points for them but also led to several penalty free throws for Ferris which helped boost the Yellow Jackets’ lead.

Even though it seemed like the referees were out to steal Christmas, Ferris was able to take the victory, 56-50 and go up 13-1 so far.

What happened to holiday cheer?
