ENNIS-Thirteen-year-old Jordin DeWald, of Houston, has been racing for three years.
Among Jordin’s accomplishments are Runner Up at the Little River Dragway in Temple, Winner of the All Run 330’ Bracket Race at the NHRA Division 4 Finals and Runner Up in the 13 Year Old Class at the NHRA Division 4 Finals.
She also made the first ever pass in the history of ADRL for the new Jr. Dragster Class.
Her current dragster is painted in honor of America’s Armed Forces and bears the name Freedom Rocks.
Jordin’s father, Mark, a retired member of the Air Force, had the idea of either a patriotic theme or a "Pirates of the Caribbean" theme.
The patriotic theme won out and the car also carries the emblems of the divisions of the United States’ Armed Forces.
The dragster was made in Houston and painted in only four days by Coupland Signs.
The dragster, which cost $20,000 to build, tops out at 85 mph and weighs 200 pounds with very little maintenance needed.
Jordin and her father are currently working on a new dragster she will race once she turns 18.
