FERRIS - After keeping the Bulldogs to only seven points in the first quarter, the Ferris Yellow Jackets took over and never looked back.
Ferris Quarterback Ryan Kidwell kept the ball twice in the second quarter to score two touchdowns and with one blocked point after, brought the Yellow Jackets within one of Eustace, 14-13, going into half-time.
The Bulldogs watched helplessly as Ferris scored 17 unanswered points in the third and fourth quarters including a 56-yard touchdown return by Kidwell on a blocked field goal attempt.
James Hopkins put the game away with a late fourth quarter touchdown giving the Yellow Jackets the decisive win, 30-14.
After the game, Kidwell stressed he wasn’t the only player responsible for Ferris’ victory.
Kidwell cited that his offensive and defensive lines were very instrumental in the win.
Coach Barnes is very pleased with the growth he has seen in his new players and the leadership and cohesion from his returning players.
