VENUS - Maypearl went into the game against Venus with a record of 2-0 thus far this season. They continued their winning streak, showing the Bulldogs of Venus no mercy in a 41-15 rout. Just minutes into the first quarter Maypearl scored the first of several touchdowns to go up 7-0. Exactly two minutes later Maypearl capitalized on a Venus fumble of the kick-off for another touchdown, 14-0.
With 2:46 left in the first quarter, Maypearl again waltzed into the end zone going up 21-0.
A visibly stunned and confused Venus team could find little cohesion.
The Bulldogs finally got on the board with 11:05 left in the second quarter with a touchdown of their own making the score 21-7.
The Panthers were too much for them scoring 20 more points to Venus’ 8.
Maypearl will take their 3-0 record and face Corsicana-Mildred this Friday at 7:30 p.m. in Corsicana.
