The SAGU Men’s Basketball Lions have signed point guard Blaine Gober of Fort Worth. Blaine is the son of Keith Gober who coaches at Calvary Christian Academy in Fort Worth.

During his playing years at Calvary, Blaine three times was named to the TAPPS All-State team and averaged 19.7 points per game and 7.3 assists per game. The Fort Worth Star-Telegram selected Gober as a First Team All-Area player.

Blaine was also a semi-finalist for the Christian Athlete of the Year Award sponsored by Lay Witness Christ Organization. Out of 250,000 entries, Gober finished in the top fifty.

Head Men’s Basketball Coach Dr. Jerry Boone is pleased with his newest signee and said, "Blaine is a smart player that can really shoot the ball." On Nov. 6, the Lions will tip-off their season with an 8 p.m. contest with Dallas Christian College in the Full Life Center.
