Lady Hawk powerlifters qualify for state meet

RED OAK - Five Lady Hawk Powerlifters competed at the State Powerlifting meet on Saturday, March 15 in Killeen.

This was the first year for any of these young ladies to qualify for the state meet, and was the first year in the program for four of them.

Olivia Slaughter competed in the 148 pound class and finished in fourth.

She matched her best dead lift of the year with a final pull of 300 pounds.

Hunter Porter competed in the 165 pound class and finished fourth.

She set personal best with a 320 pound squat, a 150 pound bench and a final dead lift of 375 pounds.

Noelle Giron finished in seventh place in the 181 pound class and set a personal best in bench press with a 160 pound lift.

Gabbie Hernandez tied for 5th in the 198 pound weight class, but lost the tie breaker.

She had an outstanding final squat of 365 pounds, a new personal best.

Kim Cline finished in fourth in the 220 pound class.

She set a new personal best with a dead lift of 325 pounds.
