Lady Cubs take a chunk out of the Wildcats

MIDLOTHIAN - On Sunday, Feb. 12 the Lady Cubs defeated the Walnut Grove Wildcats 29-12. 

The Lady Cubs played a great game and it was a great end do a great season. 

The leading scorer was Hailey Petton with 14 points. 

Also contributing to the score was Hannah Roark and Cierra Cunning with four points, Emily Noah with three, Katey Hahn and Makayla Griffin with two. 

The Lady Cubs ended up second place in district and finished with an overall district record 8-1 and an overall record of 11-3.  

The Lady Cubs 8th grade A team finished their season last night defeating Walnut Grove 53-18. 

The Lady Cubs played great and loved seeing all their hard work of the season pay off.

The leading scorer for the Lady Cubs was Jenna Price with 14 points.

Other contributing scorers were Mackenzie Sweeney with 10 points, Andrea Omehe and Morgan Huffstutler with 6 points each, Heather Martin and Taylor Huffstutler with five points each, Destiny Rogers with four points and Micah Chapman with three points. 

The Lady Cubs had an outstanding season and are excited to prepare to become Lady Panthers next season.

The Walnut Grove 8th grade B team defeated Frank Seale 34-33. Landon Chamberlain led all scorers with 12 points and Thomas Halcomb added 11. 

The team’s final record is 5-9.

The Walnut Grove 8th grade A team was defeated by Frank Seale 58-37. 

Grant Upchurch led Walnut Grove with 19 points. 

The team’s final record is 6-9.
